Abstract: La signora Henny ha in giardino un grande ciliegio, che sui possenti rami ospita una misteriosa casa di legno: salire sull'albero è il sogno di tutti i ragazzini dei dintorni. È per questo che quando Tim (figlio di un suo figlio morto anni prima) verrà a trovare la nonna per la vacanze si troverà subito circondato da amici, con la speranza che lui li farà finalmente salire sull'albero. Abstract: The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Dickens's last novel, lay unfinished at his death. Speculation remains rife as to its probable conclusion; evidence suggests that, fascinated as Dickens was by details of the plotting, his basic concern was for character and appropriate setting, in particular the character of the hero-villain, Jasper. The ancient city of Cloisterham, its cathedral a reminder of mortality, human frailty, and the lawful life, is an effective background for what Dickens's daughter called a tale of 'the tragic secrets of the human heart'.
