Abstract: "Mosaico Mendini" è un volume dedicato al lavoro del poliedrico architetto e artista Alessandro Mendini per Bisazza, l'industria italiana che ha riportato il mosaico di vetro a un nuovo splendore contemporaneo. Autore del volume è Stefano Casciani, designer e scrittore che da molto tempo collabora con Mendini e ne analizza il contributo all'evoluzione della cultura del progetto. Dalle grandi architetture come il Museo di Groningen agli allestimenti e alle vere e proprie sculture prodotte da Bisazza in occasioni importanti, si delinea il quadro di una particolare simbiosi tra la matericità del mosaico, una strategia industriale colta e un pensiero progettuale innovativo. Nel volume sono presentate opere e progetti di Mendini, del suo Atelier e di altri artisti presenti nella collezione della Fondazione Bisazza di Alte, Vicenza. Quest'ultima è l'istituzione dove è destinata a svilupparsi l'attività di studio e ricerca sulle qualità espressive del mosaico e dove è possibile osservare in permanenza la complessità e la bellezza dell'opera di Mendini.
