Abstract: Il racconto di Cervantes e' un saggio di cultura, di letteratura e di lingua ineguagliabile. Nell'involucro prezioso dei primi scritti in castigliano, si fondono una certa dose di saggezza, ancora oggi attuale, e di valore, con ricche informazioni sulla societa' del Seicento, sui costumi e gli usi delle persone comuni e delle citta' in cui si convive con i gitani. La Novela de la gitanilla e' forse la piu' conosciuta tra le Novelas ejemplares, pubblicate nel 1613. Le note a pie' di pagina intendono essere l'intermediario tra un lessico sempre valido, ma meno attuale, e un linguaggio quotidiano. Le attivita' didattiche proposte insieme alla lettura sono volte a stimolare la comprensione attiva del testo, stimolando la ricerca di sinonimi, definizioni e giochi di parole, con un particolare riguardo alle definizioni letterarie presenti nel testo. Infine, si propongono esercizi che preparano il lettore a cimentarsi a sua volta in produzioni sia scritte sia orali. Allegato al volume il CD Audio con la registrazione di testi ed esercizi.

The Young Reading series is developed with reading expert Alison Kelly from Roehampton University to help young readers grow in confidence and ability.
